The Nude of the Exhibition by Armand Silvestre. 1900. Die cut Hardcover. Interesting art book from the Paris World’s Fair of 1900. An interesting collection of color nudes that were likely on display at the exposition. It includes 42 color nudes by various world artists Also, two images from the front of an arts building at the Expo with a huge nude on the front. The Exposition Universelle of 1900, better known in English as the 1900 Paris Exposition, was a world's fair held in Paris, France, from 14 April to 12 November 1900, to celebrate the achievements of the past century and to accelerate development into the next. The fair, visited by nearly 50 million, displayed many technological innovations, including the Grand Roue de Paris, Ferris Wheel, the moving sidewalk, diesel engines, talking films, escalators, and the first magnetic audio recorder. It also brought international attention to the art nouveau style. Many of the pages have foxing, but usually only on the borders. The boards are ever so slightly bowed. This is a tough book to find. I see only one copy for sale online. No sales outside the states.
