We have never seen a classic commemorative half with rotated die before so were quite excited to find this in an old estate. We listed it raw for a while before sending to PCGS and getting the gem grade it deserved. Here is an excerpt from our original listing:

We just purchased an incredible estate set of Classic Commemoratives put aside in the 1930's. The vintage 1930's Whitman Display Boards they came in tell the story--the collector bought the coins at time of issue and put them directly in these boards, then fortunately covered them with plastic wrap for protection. And there they stayed for nearly 80 years! Virtually every coin is a stellar gem or supergem, with great gem luster shining through an original patina acquired in the holder.

The last picture shows the coins in the vintage 1930's whitman boards before we opened them.

Die rotation is slight but is there.
