Rare JEAN LAGLYE Denmark 830 Silver & Carved Gemstone Rubens Portrait Brooch
This stunning brooch was hand made in the first half of the 20th Century in Denmark by famous jewelry designer Jean Victor Laglye. It features a round black gemstone carved with a portrait of famous painter Rubens set inside a round 830 Silver frame. The piece is in good vintage condition with a chip to the lower left edge of the portrait which only registers at second glance.
The piece is stamped "830 S" for a common European silver standard of 83% silver and carries Laglye's makers mark "JEAN L" (usually JEAN LAGLYE but shortened here due to space constraints).
This antique beauty measures 1" in diameter and weighs 11 grams.
