Botanical
Covered with appressed or erect-spreading hairs, leaflets obovate.

Lupine is a layered plant, that is to say that primary ramifications form on the stem
main, then secondary ramifications grow on the primary ramifications.
Vernalization is a physiological process that refers to the effect of low temperatures on the
breaking dormancy of a number of seeds such as lupine. The fact that the lupine feels cold will allow it to pass more easily to the reproductive stage and therefore to form flowers and then fruits. If the lupine does not stay long enough in low temperatures, it will stay in the vegetative stage longer and produce a lot of vegetation. There will therefore be a lot of vegetation and often few seeds. In addition, it will be higher and therefore more sensitive to lodging. However, a balance must be found in vernalization because vegetation must be present to carry out photosynthesis. If it is too vernalized, it will have very little vegetation, very little photosynthesis and therefore few seeds.
Flowering lupine is self-pollinating and requires no initiation by pollinating insects.
