The item for sale is a reproduction of the logo decal installed on the front of the door of Western Electric (WE) 317 "Picture Frame Front" (PPF) and Cathedral Top Picture Frame Front (CTPFF) wall phones produced between 1907 and 1910.  This is a representation of the first DECAL WE used to display its logo on telephones.  Print fonts match the originals and background color is believed to be very close to the original decal given that the only examples available are over 100 years old, and in varying states of fading, and deterioration.

Dimensions (2-1/2"Wx5/8"H) are consistent with the original decal.  This item offers an acceptable replacement for a missing or deteriorated decal in the restoration of WE 317s of that period.  The WE logo was changed in 1911 with the introduction of the Plain Front models.

Decals are printed on WHITE backed waterslide decal paper, and must be submerged in hot (not boiling) water for a couple of minutes depending on water temp .
