1951 Topps Ringside Boxing - # 73 Kid Gavilan
The Premier of all boxing sets, the 1951 Ringside cards were
issued in two 48 card series - with the 2nd series being a more difficult to
find

As an amateur in Cuba, he won 66 straight bouts before he
came to the U.S. in 1946
Became an overnight favorite, had 2 chances at the
welter-weight title
He lost a 15 rounded to Sugar Ray Robinson in 1949
Won the crown from NBA champion Johnny Bratton, May 18, 1951
Successfully defended it against Billy Graham on August 29,
1951
Card is in G condition, with a bend/bump across top 3rd of
card, pin pricks on front, rounded/dinged corners, deckle edged top - see pics
