This is a cute and unusual little baby boy doll. He belonged to my friend's mom who was a child in the 1920's. He is made with a mystery material, either an early composition or paper maché, or maybe even plaster. (I welcome any ideas you may have about this, I personally haven't seen this material before!)

He is wearing a wrap-around romper suit with buttons on each shoulder. His arms and legs are strung and his head is frozen. He has painted wide open eyes, expressive eyebrows, and rosebud lips. He also has some very lightly painted hair which may have added by my friend's mom way back when. Laying down he measures 9 1/2" head to toe. It looks like at some point someone may have tried to repaint his eyes, but luckily those eyebrows are still the original!

He's in mostly good vintage condition, but about a half inch chunk of his right arm hole has broken away. Otherwise he's clean and securely strung, and in his clothes the arm hole flaw is not that noticeable. The hole could be repaired with some molding clay and touch up paint, and his eyes could be easily touched up too. Please look at the photos carefully before buying.
