Calibrated HICKOK 752A tested at NOS 'Bogey' or higher. Both tubes will have The Pentode side and the Triode side balanced and Matched as a Pair. Plug-in and Play Condition. Clean Pins & Glass as expected in GE Boxes.

Condition: Unused, New Old Stock, New in Original GE 6EA8 / 6GH8A boxes.
Calibrated HICKOK 752A tested at NOS 'Bogey' or higher Levels for Transconductance (Gm) and mA (Anode Plate Current). Both tubes will be balanced and matched for Pentode & Triode sides.
ALL PAIR ARE MADE BY GE.
4 tubes are branded GE, 1 tube branded Zenith, 1 tube branded KING, All tubes are etched in glass
6EA8 with GE Domino Dots and GE Factory/Date code identifiers
- Date codes are seen in the pics and range from late 1959 through to the 1968.
- Date codes : "59-22" branded Zenith( dual black plates), 2xCW, 1xFL, 1xHV(or RV) w/smoked glass, "4-39" branded King
These tube tested NO Shorts, No Gas, NO Leakage & NOS Life Test.
All tubes tested at Average NOS 'Bogey' spec given below. The pairs Pentode sides and Triode
sides will match Balanced and Matched as a pair.
- The 6GH8A / 6EA8 Vacuum tube is essentially 2 tubes in one glass envelope were both sides are electrically independent of each other. One side is a sharp-cutoff Pentode and the other side is a Medium Mu Triode (mu=46 amplification factor). Additionally the 6GH8A is an upgraded version of the 6GH8 tube and has an 11 second Filament warm-up time. This tube type is similar to a 6U8/6U8A tube BUT NOT THE SAME. The 6EA8 & 6GH8A are also similar in some respects to a 7199 tube but also has different ratings internally and different pin configuration connected to the Filament(Heater), Anode, Cathode and Screen Grids. Plug-in and Play adapters to convert a 6EA8/6GH8A/6GH8 and the 6U8A/6U8/ECG82/6KD8 tubes to a 7199 tube are sold on Ebay. The 7199 tube was designed specifically for HiFi Audio applications.
This tube type 6EA8/6GH8A was used in HP Oscilloscope's, many TV models and also Radio-TV consoles.
It was also used in the Dynaco ST70 Series II modification as the a VTA70i, which is a later iteration of the ST-70 Series II, that is made to use the 6GH8/6BH8A tubes.
The 6EA8 and 6GH8A tube types are very similar and often used inter changeable however
they have slightly different typical operating characteristics (see Bogey specs below ).

Pentode section : 7,500 micromhos transconductance (Gm) at 12.0 mA plate current.
Triode section : 8,500 micromhos transconductance (Gm) at 13.5 mA plate current

For reference we use a Military TV-7 A/U upgraded to TV-7 D/U with Plate Current (mA) testing jacks as our tube test set. Calibrated 8/16/2019 good for 10,000 hours of service until next calibration by CG Industries of Florida. We also use our Calibrated Hickok 752A to test most
dual Triodes and two section tubes such as 6U8/6U8A 6EA8/6GH8A's and the 12AT/AU/AX7 series and EU equivalentsECC81/82/83's. The Hickok 752A includes a 'Life Test'.
