"Bricher" Alfred Thompson Bricher (1837-1908) was an accomplished landscape artist associated with
the White Mountain art movement in New Hampshire and the Hudson River School.
He was born in Portsmouth, NH, and educated in Newburyport, MA. He studied under acclaimed artists
Albert Bierstadt and William Morris Hunt. In 1858, he opened an art studio in Boston.
His work eventually appeared in major exhibitions and popular magazines.
During the 1860s, Bricher contributed to Boston-based L. Prang and Company's print catalogue.
