Very striking deep purple, almost black colour. Caught it on camera after it's best , so the listing picture is at it's full potential, but not my own plant (sorry). The other 9 photos are of the plant I took the seeds from, before it was at it's height & another that is still growing.

You are looking at a listing for 6 seeds, taken from my plants.

‘Purple Majesty’ is a commonly grown millet variety that will thrive if not stressed by factors such as over watering or cold temperatures and produces a profusion of blooms with 4 to 5 foot burgundy foliage.
Pennisetum glaucum, or purple majesty millet, is a burgundy to purple leaved millet with fragrant flowers. Purple majesty millet starts out with green leaves and stems that eventually turn a dark burgundy or purple when in full sun. Plants grown in part shade may only develop purple stems and veins, with the leaves and flower spikes remaining green. Purple majesty millet is typically grown as a tender annual and is restarted from seed every year. This millet can give structure to annual beds and color to perennial beds. Usually grown for its striking foliage, purple majesty millet produces fuzzy stalks of fragrant gold or tan flowers that eventually turn to purple seeds. The flowers attract bees and butterflies while the seeds attract birds and small mammals.

How to Grow your Purple majesty into all her glory.

Millet and other ornamental grasses are most successful when sown inside using mini growing cells or plugs. A plug tray with 50 to 72 cells is ideal.

Fill the growing cells with a good quality, moist seed compost, fill right to the brim of the cells and flatten out the surface, then sprinkle the seed thinly across the surface, sowing 5 to 7 seeds per cell.

Once the grass seedlings are a couple inches tall, or have become root bound in the cell, transplant the plugs into 3 inch pots and allow them to grow on again. It is time to plant outside once the pot becomes root-bound.

This method will both increase your success rate and produce healthy, vigorous ornamental grass crops in about half the time of starting them outside.

This attractive Ornamental Millet makes the perfect planting partner to vibrant summer annuals, adding height and interest to borders, as well as making a perfect backdrop to your display. Purple Majesty also adds a touch of the tropics to containers on a sunny patio.Young plants are first green, with the stems and mid-rib of foliage turning purple after 8 weeks. Leaves turn dark purple when planted outside in full sun.

Germination - IMPORTANT
Please note that the germination of seeds is not guaranteed and is very dependant on Light, Moisture levels, Temperature, Soil conditions, pests plus many other factors.
I test germinate 6 seeds of every batch. If 1/3 germinate , I sell. Otherwise I don't. All seeds are kept in a dry box, in the fridge until sold, to prolong their life and germination success.
Please ensure that the seeds you order are suitable for the conditions in which you wish to grow them as I can not be held responsible for poor levels of germination. The Cultivation guide given is purely for guidelines within England. Local conditions will affect how well any seeds germinate so always check locally as to seed suitability.
