This is a stunning Fine Quality large Georgian 18th century 15 ct Gold mounted Portrait Miniature circular Table Snuff Box, i would estimate this rare snuff box dates to circa 1780 making over 240 years old, this box may be much older this is just an estimate, the quality is superb, to the of the top this amazing large snuff box you will see the most beautiful Portrait Miniature of a young lady, she is very beautiful, the detailing to her face is exquisite and of the finest quality, from her delicate red lips, blushed cheeks and wonderful brown eyes, her curled brown and powered hair is partially lifted and held in place with a lovely band which frames her very pretty face, the back of her hair cascades down upon her back taking your eye to her pale shoulder which is on show as her white gown draps gently off her shoulder, she has her turned turned towards the onlooker, it apears she is looking directly at you, its exquisite, this is then framed with a 15ct gold banding which has a smooth finish which frames the amazing portrait, this is set within a top which has more 15ct gold banding to the opening, the base has also been crafted in faux Tortoiseshell with a 15ct Gold banding to the centre, she has the most beautiful face, its breath taking and very detailed. The quality of the craftsmanship is superb, this would have once belonged to a Gentleman or Lady in the 18th century and sat proud of place on a table or writing desk ready to be used, . If this could talk i bet it would have some fascinating stories to tell, it is so very tactile and once held it has the most wonderful feel. This will add something very special to any collection. My photos really dont do this very beautiful box justice, it is of a large size being 9cm diameter, her beauty is captivating and you just cant take your eyes of her beautiful face...The Gold has been tested and is 15ct
