Mighty Mule GTO MM500 MM502 Gate Opener Arm Motor, Instructions & Diode

Top Quality Mighty Mule Motors - No motor on the market is made to higher standards for this application

With OEM Shaft

If your motor shaft is SMOOTHDO NOT replace with motor that has a splined shaft or it will cause eventual failure.  The motor gear is NOT designed for a splined shaft.  Splined shafts require gears that are also splined at the bore to mate with.  They are thus oversized and if you force the smooth gear onto a splined shaft, it will overstress the gear - the gear will then eventually rupture inside the gearbox and destroy all of the gears inside the gearbox which will be very expensive to replace.  We have had to repair a number of units where this has happened.  The shaft should extend only into the base of the bore where the wall thickness was designed to accommodate the expansion pressure from the shaft when pressed - it should not extend into the thin-walled gear tooth region of the gear.

Don't mess around - get the right motor!

We have installed these motors in many openers.  The installation is not that difficult in these newer style openers as long as you can pull that gear off without breaking it and be able to press it on to the new motor.

Motors will work with Mighty Mule FM 500, FM502.

A new diode as well as instructions are included.
