    How To Replace A Throttle Body:

    • Step 1: Find the throttle body, and remove the air intake duct.
    • Step 2: Check if there is carbon buildup. After prolonged use, the throttle hole will be worn, so you need replace it.
    • Step 3: Remove the throttle cable from the throttle body control lever, and disconnect any air or vacuum hoses.
    • Step 4: Remove the throttle position sensor from the throttle body.
    • Step 5: Remove the throttle body mounting screws and remove the throttle body assembly.
    • Step 6: Replace the old gasket between the throttle body and manifold during installation.
    • Step 7: Ensure the sensors, hoses and cables are all routed correctly to the new throttle body and that it mounts correctly to the intake manifold.

     

    Notes:

    • Do not disconnect any electrical connectors to the throttle body assembly with the ignition switch on the "ON" position. Make sure the ignition switch is off first.
    • Some electronic throttle body assemblies have coolant hose attachments that must be removed during replacement. To prevent coolant loss, plug hoses upon removal.
    • After the replacement of the electronic throttle body, the idle speed may be different or vary. A relearn procedure may be required on the vehicle.

    How To Replace A Throttle Body:
