1948 Leaf Baseball - # 28 Jim Hegan, C, Cleveland Indians

The 1948 Leaf Baseball Card Set contains 98 cards, each measuring 2 3/8” by 2 7/8”.  Some cards were printed with a 1948 copyright date on the card back, but the set was not released until 1949. it was the first to be printed in color after World War II. The 1948 Leaf cards are numbered between 1 to 168, but there was not a card for every number, and half of the cards issued were printed in limited quantities making them much harder to find. Card backs contain player biographies and offers and are sometimes found with incorrect or blank backs.
