Teflon Tubing
is the perfect substitute for missing or worn Tennis, Squash and Racquetball grommets.
We offer two wall thicknesses of this Teflon Tubing.
The Thin Walled tubing is 0.30mm think and works well when the grommet is mostly gone. It typically does require enlarging the grommet opening with an awl.
Thin Walled - Clear/White
Inside Diameter: 1.35mm, 0.053in, 16Ga
Outside Diameter:
1.95mm, 0.077in
Wall Thickness: 0.30mm, 0.012in
The Very Thin Walled tubing is 0.15mm think and works well when the grommet is still mostly intact and you just want to give the string a little extra support. It sometimes does not require enlarging the grommet with an awl.
Very Thin Walled - Black
Inside Diameter: 1.35mm, 0.053in, 16Ga
Outside Diameter:
1.64mm, 0.0645in
Wall Thickness: 0.15mm, 0.006in
Length: 2-feet - We typically use about 0.75 to 1inch per grommet hole, so this should work for about 24 grommet holes.
Instructions
for easy installation:
Step 1: Gently insert a lightly lubricated awl in the grommet you wish to tube.
This will help straiten the grommet.
Step 2: Cut ~1-inch of tube, and insert it int the grommet hole.
Step 3: Feed the string through the Teflon tube and pull tension.
Step 4: Make sure a small amount of tube is visible before continuing with your
string job.
