This show, for all you vinyl lovers, and there are a bunch out there judging by the number of you that have responded to my rare and old vinyl radio show sales, is a rare vinyl series with the best of country from the 50's, 60's, 70's and early 80's.

LEE ARNOLD ON A COUNTRY ROAD  aired on  THE WESTWOOD ONE RADIO NETWORK.  It is one one of the most popular and best loved country radio shows of all time.

It was a three hour weekly show with features, interviews, and fun along with the best country sounds ever.

The three hour show comes on three lp's in excellent new condition especially having been aired over 36 years ago.

The show comes with its cue sheets in excellent condition and housed in an attractive album cover as seen in the listing picture.

Each week Lee played the best of contemporary  country songs along with great classic oldies along with songs arranged in specialty themes throughout the show.

Most shows had a featured artist with multiple songs from that artist along with in depth interview segments.

I have listed the featured artist and if you scroll through the pictured cue sheets you will see both the featured artist and the other artists presented.  Although the segments do not list the theme of that particular segment, for some it is obvious.  For the others, you will find out as you listen to this special program.

Please play it once to transfer it to mp3 or CD format so you can protect the rarity of this show.  There are so few left because most stations that aired them threw them away after broadcast since they could not be played again due to the time limited commercial content and the scarcity of space of most radio stations.  (Believe me I know all about that - I worked at one for over seven glorious years!)

So there are likely very few left and most of those are in private collector collections

Note that many of these shows can be seen on ebay but without their cue sheets.  Unlike countdown shows where you can research what songs you are likely to hear through the broadcast date, there is no way to know what is on these shows without the cue sheets.  My shows all have their cue sheets in excellent condition as I have mentioned previously.

I got this show as part of a library of over 1000 rare country lp radio shows from a private collector who knew radio station general managers and was able to acquire them directly from them.    Now they can be yours

This show is #90-43 and aired on OCTOBER 27, 1990

THERE ARE MANY EXTENDED CONVERSATIONS BETWEEN LEE AND HIS GUESTS DURING THE SHOW

SHOW CONTENTS CAN BE SEEN ON THE LISTING PICTURE

Lee Arnold, born in Scranton, PA, was the best known air personality at WHN, New York, the most listened to Country radio station of all time. After working at WSCR in his hometown of Scranton, he continued his broadcasting career at WAVY radio and TV and WNTA AM/FM/TV, both in Norfolk. Lee became Music Director and Air Personality at Country formatted WJRZ, Hackensack New Jersey, (1965-1971) which served the New York City metropolitan area. He joined WHN radio (1971-1988), and was there when it changed from an Adult Contemporary to a Country format in 1973. While at WHN, Lee hosted the weekly nationally syndicated shows "Country Cookin'" and "Country Line" (1972-1976). Later, he hosted the Mutual Broadcasting System's "On A Country Road" (1981-1991) and was the voice of "Country In The Air", an in-flight airline Country Music channel. He was honored by both Billboard Magazine, The Country Music Association (1976) and The Academy of Country Music (1983) as Major Market Country Disc Jockey of the Year. Lee Arnold appears as announcer on two landmark live Country albums "Buck Owens and The Buckeroos' Carnegie Hall Concert " and "Country Comes To Carnegie Hall". He then joined Country formatted WYNY New York (1991-1993). Lee Arnold was inducted into The Country Music D J Hall of Fame in 2002. He joined the Sirius Satellite Network in 2001. He is also co-anchor analyst for ESPN's dog show series in addition to Animal Planet's dog show series. July of 2002, he debuted a new syndicated weekly show as host of "Country CloseUP" on Triumph Radio Network.

It is a great show with the one and only Lee Arnold who is a world wide known dj and did programs not only for Westwood One but for The US Army as a recruiting vehicle.

Now, if you do not know much about shows like this, what exactly is a radio show?

The whole genre of radio shows is unknown to most music lovers.  Radio shows were pressed just for affiliate stations and went from five or six stations to as many as a couple hundred for stations across the United States that carried the program.

They mostly aired on weekends (and still do to this day even though they are no longer available to collectors because now it is all by digital download.)

So unlike typical albums that may have had hundreds of thousands pressed, radio shows from the start had extremely limited distribution.

It thus becomes a unique and special addition to any collection whether you collect the series, a specific artist, or theme.

So many of my buyers seek these rare shows that highlight their favorite artists and with interviews that can not be found anywhere else, as do I myself.

You will love this show and it belongs in your collection.

As well, It is a piece of radio history.  You just aren't going to find these shows anymore.  Think of what they will be worth in a few years!  (IF you wanted to sell.)  I am selling to share with other music lovers what I was able to get at a reasonable price

PLEASE REMEMBER MY GREAT DISCOUNTS ON SHIPPING.  FOR U.S. BUYERS, BUY AS MANY AS YOU WANT FOR ONE $2.99 SHIPPING CHARGE.  FOR MY INTERNATIONAL FRIENDS, PAY SHIPPING FOR YOUR HEAVIEST SHOW IF YOU BUY MULTIPLE SHOWS AND ALL OTHERS SHIP FOR FREE FOR AS MANY AS YOU PURCHASE except for multi lp shows which incur only an $10 additional charge for each multi lp show.   All single lp shows or any cd show ship for no additional charge.    THIS IS A HUGE DISCOUNT AND THE LEAST I CAN DO TO COUNTER THE TERRIBLY HIGH SHIPPING CHARGES.
