From the web page of Boehringer Ingelheim:

"The pharmaceutical company Boehringer Ingelheim was founded in 1885 by Albert Boehringer (1861-1939) in Ingelheim am Rhein. From its beginnings in 1885 when it employed just 28 people in Nieder-Ingelheim, the company has since become a global enterprise. As part of research and development activities for innovative drugs, the company focuses primarily on the therapeutic areas of cardiovascular disease, respiratory diseases, diseases of the central nervous system, metabolic diseases, virological diseases and oncology."

In the 1960s and 70s, they prepared a series of "Portfolios" which include glossy loose plates of photos and descriptions of specific disease categories.  I have four of them and will be listing them separately.  They are described similarly.  The folios measure about 7.5" by 8.0", and are colored vinyl.  There is some wear and small tears around the vinyl folios, from storage and use.  These small damage issues did not affect the quality of the photo plates - they are clean and right.  The loose plates include introductory pages such as a title page, listing of plates, an Introduction (or Foreword), and then the plates.  All of the folios are confirmed to be complete.  Each plate includes photos and some descriptive text.

This listing is for Portfolio 9 - Ophthalmology.  This folio includes a title page, A Title Page, and a 10-page Introduction.  There is no listing of plates, but all 86 plates are cited in the Introduction.  There is some light foxing seen on the title page of this Portfolio.
