Obverse

St. George slaying the dragon.

These tokens were used especially by sailors as luck charms against sea accidents. The design copies medallions produced by Kremnitz in Hungary in 1600s. Features Saint George on horseback slaying the dragon, with the Latin "S. Georgius Equitum Patronus."

Reverse

One masted ship (galley) sailing in rough sea. The reverse depicts the biblical scene when Jesus is sleeping in the boat tossed by stormy seas with the Latin "In Tempestate Securitas."
