FASHIONED OF A RICH CHARMEUSE SILK WITH A HAND MADE BRUSSELS MIXED LACE THAT IS IVORY IN COLOR AND INNER SLEEVES IN SHEER SILK CHIFFON WITH A MATCHING LACE ON THE BOTTOM EDGE.
THE SILK MEETS THE LACE IN POINTED FASHION IN BOTH THE FRONT AND REAR WITH ORNATE JAPONAISE SILK FLOSS EMBROIDERY IN A LARGE WINGED PATTERN THROUGH THE FRONT AND A BUTTERFLY OR BEETLE DETAIL IN THE REAR.
THE SKIRTING FALLS LONG WITH LEAD WEIGHTING SEEN COMPLETELY AROUND THE BOTTOM EDGE WITH NO WEIGHTING ON THE CENTER TRAIN.
THE INTERIOR IS LINED IN A SILK TAFFETA WITH THE INNER BELTING READ A JOHNSON BOSTON.
CONDITION: THE BOTTOM CENTER TRAIN HAS SEEN THE STITCHING COME UNDONE AND NEEDS TO BE RETACKED INTO PLACE. A VERY LARGE HAND SIZED DRIP STAIN IS SEEN ON THE CENTER TRAIN. WHEN THE SATIN IS HELD TO LIGHT, THERE IS SOME SMALL SPLITTING THAT IS BEGINNING AND ALTHOUGH NOT SHATTERING, IT WOULD NEED STRENGTHENING IF IT IS TO BE WORN. THIS SPLITTING IS SEEN ON THE BOTTOM HALF OF THE TRAIN ONLY.
AS PICTURED, THERE IS SOME SOILING AND DRIP STAINING TO THE KNEE OF THE REAR WITH LIGHTER SOILING TO THE OPPOSITE KNEED AND SOME FAINT SPOTS AND MARKS TO THE FRONT SIDE WITH SOME SMALL DIGS THAT ARE HARD TO NOTE BUT ARE EVIDENT WHEN IT CATCHES THE LIGHT.
THE LACE IS EVENLY AGE COLORED. THE SILK CHIFFON SLEEVE HAS A THUMBPRINT HOLE ON THE UNDER SIDE AND THE INNER LINING IS PRESENT BUT SHOWS SIGNS OF SHATTER THROUGHOUT.
