The CV-S025 s a 1” stainless-steel swing check valve. Swing
Check Valves are a simple way to prevent backflow in applications where unidirectional
flow is necessary. This check valve has an internal swinging disc that hangs
freely and relies on gravity and pressure to open and close. This body has a
seat that only allows the disc to swing in one direction making it impossible
for media to flow upstream. When any flow comes in the opposite direction as
intended the media will push the disc closed against the seat and stop any
flow.
The benefit of using a swing check valve over other types of
check valves is that they allow for a larger opening and higher flow. This
valve is designed with a top compartment that allows the disc to move
completely out of the way of the media when it is open. This makes the valve a
smart choice for applications with high, consistent flow that requires the flow
is not restricted or slowed.
This check valve is manufactured out of quality stainless steel,
stainless-steel components with Female NPT threading. This plus the simplistic
design made this valve sturdy, affordable, and easy to maintain. This valve has
a pressure rating of 200 PSI, a temperature range of -4 to 356° F, and is completely
lead-free making it extremely versatile and great for home brewing, potable water,
and food-grade applications.
Swing Check Valves should not be used in certain positions or
where sudden and extreme pressure changes occur. These are designed to be in
the horizontal position and cannot be installed in certain positions because it
relies on gravity to keep the swing disc shut. This check valve may be damaged
by the sudden reversal of pressure as the swing disc may slam shut and damage the disc,
seat, or both. This is not recommended for applications that may experience waterhammer.
