Vintage (Loose, 100% Complete) 1984 Takara G1 Transformers Cassettes Ravage/Rumble LOT, w/ Original Card (Uncut Stat cards/ No Blisters)
Original owner; original parts (no reproductions/replacements).
Ravage notes:
- Ravage is a fairly accurate, life-sized representation of a black and silver Olympus Type IV “Metal” MC60 Microcassette.
- In cassette mode:
- Ravage folds into the cassette mode well.
- The front is painted, and the paint is in excellent condition--there aren't any major scratches or defects; whatever wear there is, is typical of play wear, and given the amount this item was played with when I was a kid, the amount of play wear is remarkably low (some mild scuffing on the die-cast parts, etc.).
- The reverse side has the Decepticon logo decal still adhered in the upper left corner; it's missing the upper right portion, but is easily identifiable as the logo.
- In Jaguar mode:
- There are a surprising number of points of articulation, and happily, every single one of them still articulates properly; and all are still quite tight.
- The tail flips back perfectly, and the head flips forward without issue; both will stay whatever position they're placed.
- The legs unfold well, and are tight at all joints (the right front paw pin is probably the loosest of the joints, but it is not so loose that the paw flops about); the legs will remain in various positions easily.
- Happily, the gold eyes are still present (the left eye has a bit of wear, it seems, at the top edge, but is probably on the order of 95% present, if not more).
- The figure stands, but it requires a bit of balancing (it stands much easier on hard, flat surfaces).
- The heat-seeking missiles fit snugly into the cassette holes, and are surprisingly free of serious chrome wear.
Rumble notes:
- Rumble is a fairly accurate, life-sized representation of a red Olympus Type IV “Metal” MC60 Microcassette.
- In cassette mode:
- Rumble folds into cassette mode well, though because the robot's feet don't connect to the robot's folded arms, the upper portion of the cassette will separate a bit since the knees joints are a bit loose (this, like all the other G1 Transformers I had and am selling, were played with and transformed countless times, so some loose joints are hardly surprising).
- The front of the cassette is decorated with numerous decals; these decals show some edge wear at various places, but none are missing entirely--the face is still easily identifiable as a micro-cassette.
- The reverse side has a Decepticon logo decal that is in good condition; and what gold paint there is, shows little wear.
- In robot mode:
- The legs unfold easily into a straight position at the bottom of the cassette; flipping the cassette over so that the black (reverse) side is facing you, the legs rotate 90 degrees outward (so that the decals that were on the left and right edges of the cassette are now the shins).
- The feet/toes are die-cast (later variations were plastic); these get pushed out from the back--not necessarily a smooth action, but at least they aren't loose (they'll easily stay out in robot from, and stowed in cassette form).
- The arms simply rotate at the shoulder downward; this action allows the robot head to pop up.
- The arms then get rotated 180 degrees, so that the decals are to the front.
- The elbows are metal (later variations were plastic).
- The shoulders are tight, but the arms rotate loosely just below the shoulder joint; the elbows are fairly tight.
- The Thrusters/Guns fit well both into the cassette holes, and on the lower arms (though on opposite sides from their placement on the back); both are remarkably free from chrome wear.
- Rumble stands easily as a robot, even with the thrusters/guns placed on the arms, or pegged into the back.
