Description

This listing is for an antique pair of Chinese porcelain plates from the Guangxu Nian Zao period (1882-1959).   The plates measure 8 3/4 inches or 22.2 cm in diameter.  They feature a red ground with a white medallion center and two cartouches on each side.  The cartouches feature a landscape with trees, figures and water.  The medallion at the center shows a gold headdress with green and red feathers, with a blue and white border around it.  The plate is further enhanced with a large red border with scrolling leaves and vines with large flowers.  The backs have three toed dragons chasing the pearl of wisdom through clouds and are signed at the middle.  They are all hand painted and have nice attention to detail throughout.  They come with protective felt bags.

One plate is in very good condition, the other has an old repair to the edge.
Please see photographs for more on the look and condition as they are part of the description.
