This product was ball-milled into this Superior ‘Magnalium Alloy’ Metal Fuel product, after the following procedures were successfully accomplished:

#1 - Pure Aluminum Metal and a block of pure Magnesium, equal in weight, were melted in the foundry furnace and alloyed into Magnalium (Which has it own unique melting Temp, Mass per cu.in, and other very unique and useful properties / characteristics).

#2 - This Liquid Alloy was then sealed off from oxygen and allowed to solidify into a solid metal casting. The transition from liquid to solid Magnalium is no small transformation regarding the value it gives to this product. It locks the volatile Magnesium particles into their alloyed bonds with the equally abundant Aluminum. The stabilizing of the liquid alloys temperature to room temp, ideally done with minimal elemental oxidation in order to preserve calculated ideal stoichiometric, completely stabilizes both the Aluminum and the Magnesium particles. They will not react with any of the chemical oxidizers that would normally cause pure magnesium, and/or Aluminum, to react or ignite upon contact.
      As long as there is no addition of heat from a fuse or flame, the Magnalium powder can be freely be substituted into any flash powder composition in the place of the pure or dark flake Aluminum powder.

#3 - The Cast Magnalium Brick is then ball milled into a metal powder.


Bottom Line: Swapping in, one to one by mass, Magnalium powder for a compositions listed qty of pure of dark flake aluminum powder, never caused any decrease in the stability of the composition in question), but the exothermic output of all the compositions that we have tested, showed that when this Magnalium Powder product is substituted in, one to one, for the mass of Dark Flake Aluminum powder called for in a given or normally used,for this Magnalium Powder, there would be a 200%+ increase in the size, pressure generated, and speed of the reaction being tested.

* This product has been produced from fully alloyed Magnalium Castings.

** This product has passed all stability tests, testing for pre-ignition reactivity when mixed with various chlorate based compositions.

*** This product also has undergone testing, aimed to measure specifically for particles if pure (unalloyed) Magnesium. Each batch of alloyed magnalium castings undergo this specific set of tests. And we have yet to find any unalloyed Magnesium particles, in any batch of this ball-milled Magnalium Powder Product.
