This IBM M1015 / LSI 9220-8i is a SAS 2 / SATA III, PCI Express 2.0 x8 Host Bus Adapter (HBA) which supports upto 6GB/s. The card has been flashed to IT Mode firmware which means the card has NO HARDWARE RAID support. Each connected HDD is passed through to the OS and are usable as individual drives or combined into an array using Software RAID such as Windows Disk Spanning / Striping, unRAID, FreeNAS/TrueNAS, ZFS, and Linux mdraid etc. SMART data is not passed through.
