It is a compact lens for its focal length and its enhanced optical design consists of 9 lens elements in 7 groups with minimal glass-to-air surfaces. The robust metal barrel of the lens is complemented by depth of field and distance scales, which pair with the manual focus design for greater control and use of pre- and zone focusing techniques.
