Colored and numbered litho of Canadiana Buffalo NY-Crystal Beach Canada, often referred to as Crystal Beach boat, framed 21” by 17”, signed by artist, black matting, number 89/100, has hanger. Thomas Sgovio was born in Buffalo NY in 1916 to Italian immigrants and died in 1997 in Mesa, AZ. He was ex- Soviet Gulog prisoner of war serving 16 years in labor camps. He came back to Buffalo NY in 1963 and eventually wrote a book “Dear America! Why I Turned Against Communism” in 1972. Steamship is rendering of 1902 image of Crystal Beach boat that transported visitors and mail to Crystal Beach, Canada from Buffalo,NY. Most of the passengers were headed to Crystal Beach Amusement Park. Imperfections are slight yellowing around edges of matting and one small water spot area to left of flag, see all pictures, overall very good condition, inside measurement of matting is approx 14” by 10”.
