The NMEA 0183 standand is the method by which marine electronics talk to one another. The NX-100 NMEA 0183 Expander solves the problem of needing to share information of a NMEA device such as GPS receiver with several other NMEA instruments. Some NMEA devices do not provide sufficient drive capability to function in a multiple listener installation. The The NX-100 allows multiple listeners to be connected to a single talker. The NX-100 takes either a single-ended RS-232 or a differential RS-422 input signal. It conditions and buffers the input signal to provide three single-ended RS-232 outputs and one differential RS-422 output. It also provides up to 2kVRMS input-to-output-to-power isolation using optical and transformer technology.
