9ct Yellow Gold Ring W/ White Opal & Sapphire - Birmingham 1990 - Size O 1/2
Solid 9ct yellow gold.
Hallmarked with full English assay markings that read:
“AK, Crown, 375, anchor, Q”
Which Translates to:
“(Unknown maker), Gold standard, 9ct gold, Birmingham, 1990”
The ring is in good condition. It is showing minimal wear. Has a few finer scratches but nothing noticeable.
The ring style is a dress / cocktail ring.
This ring is handmade. It is full of small details and feels quality to the touch.
Made in Great Britain. Dated to 1990.
The main stones are natural white opals and the secondary stone is a natural sapphire.
Each stone has been tested and they have all been confirmed to be natural and without colour enhancements.
The opals have a total combined carat weight of 1.0cts, 0.25cts each.
The sapphire has a total carat weight of 0.06cts.
The opals display beautiful colour bands under sunlight, indoor lighting shows them to be less vivid but still full of colour. Mostly yellow, green and red.
The opals display every colour under a close examination. Good quality in other words.
The sapphire is a deep blue colour.
There are no visible chips or scratches on the stones.
No stones are missing and no stones are loose in their settings.
The gold purity of this ring has been tested and it was confirmed to be solid 9ct yellow gold (37.5% purity)
The ring has been resized. The solder joint was made by a professional. Appropriate gold solder was used.
The ring has had no other modifications made to it.
Never undergone any repairs.
Very comfortable to wear. Sits on your finger properly and it is proportionate.
Has a gothic victorian appearance so it can be called a revival ring. It is not based of a particular ring.
Has some numbers Hallmarked opposite to the main hallmarks (not shown in photos) I believe this is a product code or edition number of some sort. The numbers are “2157”
The ring is not bent or dented.
Has an inside diameter of 17.7mm.
An Australian size O 1/2.
Ring band width is 2.3mm.
Ring band thickness is 1.0mm.
The face of this ring is 19.7mm in width and the maximum height of the opals is 4.6mm.
In perfectly wearable condition.
