Description
Viking tent, 3 x 2.7 x 1.8 m, 425 g, natural color
Viking tents have many advantages over other medieval tents: they are sturdy, have a stable construction, which also guarantees installation on firm ground, because pegs are not absolutely necessary and you can let your imagination run free. creativity with your frame design.
Well-known models are based on the Oseberg and Gokstad finds, which, however, have not been fully preserved and are therefore partially reconstructed based on assumptions.
Nothing specific can be said about the actual use of these tents. It is not entirely clear if they were really used outdoors. Another theory suggests that they were trading tents.
The Viking tent with the dimensions 3.0 x 2.7 x 2 m can accommodate up to three people with luggage, the smaller version (this one) with 2.0 x 2.3 x 1.8 m offers space for two people.

Dimensions are all approximate and may vary from product supplied. The tents are handmade, which makes them as authentic as possible, but also leads to one or two small errors. Cotton is a natural substance that behaves differently in different external conditions, i.e. it can shrink or stretch a lot. Do not try to stretch the tent skin with great effort. This increases the risk of the seams tearing or opening.
Important information on the construction, handling and maintenance of our historic tent.
The following tips are useful for you to enjoy your Viking tent for a long time:
Do not stretch the ropes too much, as natural materials such as wood and cotton change when wet and need space to expand or contract. This prevents you for example from the openings for the bars in the roof widen and later the water has the opportunity to penetrate. At night, we recommend that you loosen the ropes a little, as the humidity rises sharply and excessive pressure may be exerted on your tent. In case of rain or high humidity, please also loosen the ropes slightly.
After use, be sure to dry your tent if it has become damp, otherwise there is a risk of mould.
Never use chemicals or other cleaning products to clean your tent. It is best to remove dried dirt with a brush.
For long-term storage, please separate all items (pegs, ropes, etc.) from the tarp and ideally pack everything separately. Make sure all parts are dry and also stored dry.
