A Lambda Sensor also known, as an Oxygen Sensor or O2 Sensor was developed to help measure the air fuel ratio. It enables the vehicle to monitor the air fuel ratio and see whether it is running too rich or too lean.
Due to their fitment in the Exhaust system they are often put under various strain. A damaged or faulty sensor could potentially run the risk of a drop in engine performance and in some cases a much more severe after effect.
