This is a very rare item, and it probably needs an explanation, as I have recently been told that collecting trading cards albums is basically a European thing.

In Spain, and in other European countries like for example France and Italy, collecting "trading cards albums" is a very well-known and usual activity among kids and adults alike.

Albums are soft cover, stapled books (like comic-books but generally thicker and bigger), and the idea is to literally stick trading cards (called "cromos") on them.

Albums come with many numbered slots, and the cromos need to be placed in their specific numbered spot.

They came (and still come) in small packages of about 5 to 8 random cromos, and all of them are supposed to be different images / numbers.

So what you are seeing here is a real treasure. :) 

As it happens with all vintage cromos, this ones need a gluing bar to be attached to their album (sticker cromos did not exist yet back in the eighties).

I have no idea of what is inside the packs as, of course, this envelopes are sealed and they never tell.

Kids would go to "quioskos" (where newspapers and magazines are sold), buy a few of this packs, and try to get lucky with completing their albums.

Whatever cromos were repeated would be added to a pile, generally brought to school and exchanged to other kids who would do the same.

As a last resort, you could order the cromos you were missing by ordering them from the manufacturer, but there would be a limit for this kind of orders and the manufacturer might not have stock of the needed ones.

This cards belong to the album: "Walt Disney's Galery" ("Galería de Walt Disney" in Spanish. 

Year: 1972.

Envelope size: 8.5 x 6 cm. ( 3.3 x 2.4" ) approx.

Number of cards contained in the envelope: Unknown.

Language: Spanish. Even though trading cards have unlettered pictures, they sometimes had explanations and text on the rear.

Condition:

This is a VINTAGE, UNOPENED trading cards vintage envelope.

The package is very light (as it always is), it comes sealed, and the cards are in amazing condition because they have never been taken out, so they are brand new.

Please keep in mind that cromos usually came enveloped in very thin, low quality paper, as this paper was always and immediately discarded by kids.

Being so, the paper doesn't withstand well the pass of time, as can be seen in the many pictures provided, so please expect some imperfections.

That's why these are delicate, very hard to find in such good condition, and sold "as is".
