This is an extremely hard to find Hanna Barbera item from Spain (Europe).

This is NOT a sticker sheet nor a traditional trading cards game: these are called “cromos de picar”, which translates as “Cards to hit” (I have translated them as “palm cards” so it makes more sense), and they are meant to be played with and heavily handed (nowadays vintage ones like the one you see here are highly collectible).

The way to play with these is:

1)       Every player needs to cut the cards he / she owns off their frame (hence the white pieces you see in the first picture: they mark the cutting areas).

2)       Once cut, all palm cards that are going to be played with (generally 1 per player and game, but you can use as many as you like) must be piled together with their illustrations facing upwards.

3)       The first player (you need to agree on who it will be) needs to rapidly hit the pile with his or her palm (this is a fast motion made by one hand only in inverted bowl position: you hit the pile and immediately retrieve your hand or else your move is not valid).

4)       If any of the cards are turnes around by the hit, the player gets to own all the cards that he or she has flipped and add them to his or her stash (this is not a temporary loss: if you play and the other person flips your cards, you loose them for good to the other player… and the other way around).

5)       Then it’s the second player’s turn. They will need to do the same thing under the same rules.

You can obviously allow more players into the game as long as each one of them contributes to the pile with the same amount of palm cards.

Once the pile is depleted (all cards have been flipped), the game is over and you can start over by betting new cards… or the ones you have skillfully won!
