Great Antique Alpine Bavarian / German 800 Silver & Coin Belt Key or Purse Chain
This stunning belt chain was handmade, probably in Italy at the beginning of the 20th century and features a belt clasp adorned with an Italian 500 Lire Silver Coin (that may have been added later). Suspended on the clasp is an ornate pierced silver horse-themed charm holder. It carries 6 charms with silver mountings: four of the charms feature animal teeth as hunting / fishing trophies and two have silver coins representing travel destinations (a 1922 Czech silver coin and a 1915 German silver coin).
This gorgeous piece is in very good antique condition with some patina according to age which can easily be polished away if desired.
This unusual piece measures 4 3/4" long x 2" wide and weighs 73.5 grams. Tested for 800 (80%) Silver and stamped accordingly in some places.
