A superb example of a Farsi/Persian manuscript which I suspects dates pre.1700's.
I am no expert but this appears to be on vellum, then mounted onto traditional handmade paper. There is a sheen visible which I just could not capture on camera. If you look closely at the manuscript, you'll see there is also print to the reverse. I believe this came from a book and there is more text to be found on the other side. Please view the photographs in order to come to your own conclusion.
Please view the photographs to satisfy yourself - these are just my observations. Through internet searching, it seems fair to suggest that this may be a leaf from the Qu'ran. If anyone who speaks Farsi would be kind enough to give me any information they do have, I'd be happy to add a note to the auction in order to help other prospective bidders.
The manuscript seems to be in exceptionally good condition, the author appears to have made a correction fourth line down, and made notes to the right hand side of the paper. I see no damage that may have occurred after this piece was crafted. And I do believe it was crafted, not just written. It's absolutely beautiful.
There appears to be a signature bottom left.
The manuscript is very well mounted and framed. The frame measures: 13.75" x 11.75" and the page the manuscript is written on measures 11 1/8 x 6.5". The leaf itself, drawn out, and gold edged measures 3.5" x 9" which appears to be indicative of the size used throughout the text/book it was removed from.
I have no accurate idea to a date, but concur with a professional who said they suspected this beautiful handiwork to date pre 1700's / 18th cent.
Please take time to carefully inspect my images as they form a large part of my description.
If
you have any questions, please just ask. I'll always help and am
willing to combine postage to save you money. This item is free postage

I do have another manuscript I am considering selling this Sunday (25th).
There will be lots more glass and jasper ware going on soon, so please check my other items.
Thanks!
Shipping
- I do my very best to pack incredibly carefully
using environmentally friendly or recycled products (where possible)
that are effective at protecting your beautiful items. I use thicker
walled boxes, plenty of padding and wrap each item very carefully to
avoid edges sticking out anywhere. I pack the bottom of the box too! If
it is clean and user friendly, I will re-use it, but I also keep stock
of brand new packaging materials and do not compromise if there is
nothing else around I can re-use. This is not about cost effective
shipping practice for me, I want to help save our environment. It still
costs me to take it to the post office, spend time packaging, etc. I
charge £1.50 for this. I live in a rural area and a trip to the post
office can sometimes take 30-40 minutes, I keep a supply of brand new
materials, and freely give my time packaging as carefully as possible to
ensure no breakages.
Shipping is always insured where I possibly can,
this is non-negotiable to protect us both. Most of the bigger carriers
in the UK will absolutely not cover ceramics/porcelain in any form,
indeed take issue with protecting the damage of any antique they carry
at all so I select it whenever I can and wrap very well in order to avoid damage. - Payment.
Please pay via eBay, I am a limited company so do have other options
available. Collection is welcome. Bank transfer and PayPal also okay.
-
I will gladly ship overseas.
I hope you can see I am a conscientious person and I will wrap your
item very carefully. Royal Mail is my courier of choice, but anything
weighing over 2kg will either have to be separated (where possible) into
individual parcels, or sent via another courier. This can often be
costly. Please email me and I'll gladly help you with a custom quote for
your needs.
Terms of Sale
I do not accept returns unless I am clearly at fault. What I do do is:
- Take
a great amount of time inspecting, measuring and photographing your
item. I know what a ding feels and sounds like. I routinely look for
cracks, chips or restoration and where possible note my findings. My
photographs are detailed and form the majority of my description. If
you have any concerns, or cannot see something close up enough that
you'd like, I will take another photo for you, please just ask.I
package incredibly well, and spend as long as it takes researching then
making sure you get your item by the fastest, safest and most secure
method possible as cheaply as we can manage that. My
packaging is always recycled where I can. I have brand new materials
though too to supplement and ensure your parcel is correctly packaged.I
do not profit from packaging. Even by asking a
£1.50 packaging/post office visit fee, all this is, is a contribution
toward materials. If you are unhappy with this or any of my terms;
please do not bid.
