This is often enough to do a small boot floor or to go over a transmission tunnel in a classic to reduce heat in the cabin.  Provides sound and vibration deadening along with heat resistance from -54°C to +149°C so can be used in the engine bay to protect sensitive components or as an exhaust shield for example.  Fully water & salt resistant and can be used as water barrier when the edges are overlapped.  Better and cheaper than Dynamat and other competing products!  Comes with simple Fitting Instructions. Fatmat Xtreme is a black, butyl/mastic based rubber solid with a thick, highly reflective, polished aluminium constrain layer, a pressure sensitive adhesive and waxed backing paper. It is designed to be bonded onto substrates that are vibrating close to their natural frequency. This composite offers very high damping over a broad temperature range while adding minimal weight to the existing structure.

N.B:  When looking for sound deadening please avoid bitumen based products as they don't offer anything like the performance of the butyl based mats. They solidify when cold, melt when hot, have a lasting smell and are a false economy. Amongst the butyl based stuff (Dynamat/Fatmat) you'll find Fatmat is by far the cheapest and is in fact a better performer than Dynamat.

Here is a photo of Fatmat installed in my MGF MK2 as part of an In-Car Entertainment upgrade. An extra advantage of using Fatmat here is that due to it being waterproof and covering all holes, I did not need to replace the standard door shredders (thin plastic film stuck to inner door skin to stop leaks) which saved me £30.00!
