DESCRIPTION - A very large original mid century abstract oil on board painting entitled 'Riverside' on the reverse label.
An absolutely stunning and impressive original 50's 60's abstract painting in a fabulous range of colours in a raised design. Signed by the artist George Hutchins bottom right corner.
This painting has been created using gesso which gives it a rather special raised effect which can best be seen in the last two photos.
George Hutchins ATD (b. 1925) works on primed hardboard double thickness to prevent warping 'draws' his pictures in relief with trails of Gesso (a hard drying mixture of whitening and glue); uses a spoon edge and a broken comb for added texture effects. When the basic picture is dry, he paints it in the normal way using oils. His subjects are semi-abstractions based on things seen.
Framed in an original authentic period heavy solid wooden rustic white painted frame.

APPROX SIZE of visible image 39" x 16" and 48" x 24" including frame.
CONDITION - In excellent condition with some age related marks to frame but generally very good used condition - please see photos to satisfy yourself as to condition as they form part of the description. I do my best to describe all faults but am not infallible so please do not make a purchase unless you are totally happy regarding the condition. .
Most of the paintings and prints that I source are antique or vintage and as such are not in perfect condition and may need some attention to frames, mounts, glass, fixings, tape, dust, nails etc. However, I do try to be totally honest and bring any flaws and faults to your attention if present.

I like to use recycled cardboard when possible which also helps to keep prices low and do not profit from delivery costs with no charge being made for time taken to pack paintings/prints.
