Yvette TROISPOUX
1914 - 2007

Yvette TROISPOUX (born June 1, 1914 in Coulommiers and died September 11, 2007 in Paris) was a French amateur photographer famous for the photographs of great photographers that she took during the openings of their exhibitions.

Being always present at openings with her Leica, always dapper, she was nicknamed the "photographer of photographers". Robert Doisneau called her his "photocopine" and also wrote: "When she takes out of her bag the old Leica which has seen so much, it is the sign that the party is beginning"

It was not until late, in 1982, during his first exhibition at the Odéon-Photo gallery in Paris, that the general public discovered his work done on the sly. She was named, the same year, a member of the Salon d'Automne.

Yvette was a free spirit, who for fifty years took pictures as a simple amateur without worrying about the market value. Despite her great age, she had a freshness, a spontaneity, an amused connivance that her appearance as a kind of "Miss Marple of photography" provoked.

"She arrived with her Leica and two or three shopping bags, it was our mascot" and "If Yvette was not there, it was because the event was not important", says François Hébel, director of the Rencontres d 'Arles.

In addition to portraits, she has produced many images of Paris and the banks of the Seine. His favorite subjects have always been the daily life of men, the event, the landscape.

Many exhibitions have made his work known in France and abroad and have generated a large number of publications, radio and television broadcasts.

She was a member of 30 x 40, the photographic club of Paris, an officer of the Order of Arts and Letters, it was Robert Doisneau who presented her with her medal on March 5 Mars 1993, at the town hall of the 8th arrondissement.

A tribute was paid to him during the Rencontres d'Arles in 2004.

His photographic collection sold at auction in Coulommiers on June 22, 2008 was pre-empted by the National Library of France (BnF).
