This £2 coin and booklet was produced by the royal mint of England. It represents the celebration of HG Wells, and he was known as the man of genius, the father of science fiction, and also the man who invented tomorrow.

Wells background in biology led to the publication of his first book textbook in biology in 1893 with his first publication behind him Wells went on to release the time machine as his first novel two years later, the book received critical Acclaim, and instantly catapulted wells to stardom as a celebrated author, which only intensified his love of writing

In the three consecutive years that followed wells penned a number of stories, including two of his most famous releases, the invisible Man and the war of the worlds, along with his debut novel, these revolutionary stories became his most legendary works, and all three have remained in print ever since their original publication in the 1890s a testament to their popularity, each has since been adapted into the big screen and their concepts continue to feature prominently in science fiction genre today.

In the year of the 75th anniversary of his passing, The Royal Mint is proud to celebrate this trail brazing author with a Commemorative UK £2 Coin dedicated to " the father of science-fiction".

The coin comes in the original Government packaging along with a booklet describing the life and works of HG Wells with interesting facts and history of this literary genius.
