Sale Multiple: 20 seeds

Note - Seeds and all parts of Datura plants are poisonous so should not be ingested and hands should be washed after handling

Datura Innoxia is an interesting addition to any garden with its exotic broad leaves and velvety downy stems.
From July onwards it produces scented white coloured, trumpet-shaped flowers that are at full bloom towards dusk and attract pollinating moths.
After flowering large spiny egg shaped seed capsules form - which give this unusual plant its common name Thorn-apple.

Germination and growing.

Seeds should be soaked overnight before being planted in compost and covered to ~1cm deep, and a watered in.
Important for germination is keeping warm, above 20°C (up to 30°C).  A sunny windowsill or propagator does help.
Shoots normally start appearing in 2-4 weeks and should be potted on when they start to grow their first real leaves.
Be careful re-using any compost containing seeds that didn't germinate - you will end up with these stowaways appearing later in the year (got that T-shirt). Some seeds are slow to germinate, but eventually most do.

Pot the baby plants on as they get bigger.
They can be planted in the garden once the chance of any late frosts has passed.
Rich, well drained soil in a sunny spot will make for happy plants.

Most pests keep away... Young plants can be a target of snails.
Plants of any age may suffer from sap-suckers such as greenfly or capsid bugs - Keep a lookout for these as they can result in deformed leaves and stunted growth :-(
