A wonderful 1970’s folio set of 9 collotype lithograph prints b/w and color of the modernist French Russian born Jewish artist Marc Chagall (1887 - 1985). This folio of 9 reproduced prints are from the original Chagall exhibition by the Maeght Gallary in Zurich, Switzerland. The folio cover is titled “Bouquet de Pivoines” (Bouquet of Peonies). Included is a pamphlet of a personal extended interview between Chagall and the writer Manuel Gasser written in German. An additional fold out pamphlet contains a summary detail of the enclosed prints also written in German. 8 of the collotype lithograph prints sheets measure 12 1/4” x 9” (31 x 23 cm). There is one excellent, additional color foldout that measure 18” x 12.5” (46 x 32 cm).
This folio of 9 Chagall collotype lithograph prints from the Maeght Zurich exhibition in 1971 will make an excellent addition to any Chagall or modernist collection. What a great find for the modernist art print collector!
