Openok winter. A cap with a diameter of 3-6 cm, at first convex, with a bent or lowered edge, later convex-expanded, with a straight edge, smooth, light yellow, ochre-yellow, honey-yellow (classic color), orange-yellow (more often on banks), in mature mushrooms with an orange-brown middle and red-brown spots. The leg is 4-10 cm long and 0.5-1 cm in diameter, cylindrical, sometimes narrowed to the base, fibrous, light yellow.

Useful properties: in Japan, winter ash is highly valued due to its subtle aroma and health-improving effect. After shiitake, it is considered the main cultivated mushroom there. Like shiitake, winter mushroom is believed to contain substances that inhibit the growth of cancer cells.

Use. Delicious edible mushroom, used fresh (boiled for about 20 minutes), pickled and salted. It tolerates freezing well, without losing its taste qualities, so you can collect frozen and thawed.

Our mycelium is intended for planting on hardwood and indoors on soil fertilized with leaf humus and manure humus. In the production of dry grain mycelium, oats, wheat, rye and other cereals are used. First, the mycelium germinates on the grain, then it is crushed and dried using a special technology at a temperature of 23-25 ° C. The mycelium goes into a dormant state, preserving its properties. At the same time, the storage period increases to 5-7 years. It should be taken into account that mycelium loses 5-6 times its weight during drying, therefore 10 g of dry mycelium is equivalent to 50-60 g of ordinary grain mycelium.

Upon entering favorable conditions (temperature, humidity, soil acidity), the mycelium wakes up and begins to actively germinate. There is no growing season for mycelium, that is, mushrooms can be grown indoors at any time of the year.

The package contains detailed instructions for growing. 10 g of mycelium is enough to prepare a bed with an area of 2-3 square meters. m.

Growing honey mushroom on a substrate.

The substrate used is straw, hay, corn cobs, and seed husks.

In any case, the starting materials must be free of mold.  It is advisable to add 1% superphosphate to the substrate.  The finished substrate for protection against mold is subjected to heat treatment.  It is placed in a container and filled with boiling water.  After it has cooled, the substrate is squeezed out and placed in 30x40 cm plastic bags or in glass jars with a capacity of 0.5 to 3 liters, where the mushrooms will be grown. Winter mushroom mycelium is added to the prepared containers with the substrate in an amount of 0.4% by weight of the substrate.  Place it in the center of the jar or bag, where a hole is first made with a wooden stick = 1.5-2 cm across the entire thickness of the substrate. Overgrowth of the substrate with mycelium lasts 30-40 days depending on its volume at a temperature of 15-25 °C.  The substrate should not dry out, so the container is covered with damp burlap or paper or periodically moistened.  Light is optional.  As soon as the substrate is overgrown, the containers are transferred to a place illuminated by electric or natural light from -7 ° C to + 10 ° C verandas, loggias, balconies, garden plots, etc. The rudiments of mushrooms appear on the 10th day after exposure  containers to a permanent place.  And after another 10 days, full-fledged mushroom bodies will develop from the primordia.  Thus, the first mushrooms appear after 2 months.  after landing.

Harvest by carefully cutting off the bunches of mushrooms at the base of the stems, and the remains of the stems are removed from the substrate.  After 1.5-2 weeks.  a second wave of mushrooms appears, etc. During the entire cultivation period, which is 3.5-4 months.  0.5 kg of mushrooms are collected from 1 kg of substrate.  In other words, from one 3-liter jar you can remove up to 2 kg of mushrooms, which are not inferior in quality to forest mushrooms, but surpass them in environmental cleanliness.  Productivity with

1 package of mycelium planted in 50 kg of moistened substrate up to 27 kg of high-quality commercial mushrooms.

Growing on wood.

This method involves using wood as a substrate.  IN

at home, winter honey fungus is grown on deciduous wood - aspen,

poplar, willow, birch, walnut, apple, plum, etc. The wood is used as cut wood

in the form of stumps and on the root of a living tree.  Do it at a distance of 15-20 cm from each other

cuts or drill holes 3-5 cm deep and 2-3 cm in diameter around the entire perimeter

hemp.  The cuts or holes are filled with mycelium.  Mushrooms planted on wood grow for 5-6 years.  One package is enough for 60-70 kg of wood.

WARNING! A very important factor for the successful cultivation of mushrooms is the acidity of the soil. The optimal value of acidity for openka is Ph = 6.5 - 7.

When planting, we recommend using a mycelium activator, which contains a set of macroelements necessary for the development of mycelium, a hydrogel for moisture retention, a soil deoxidizer, as well as indicator tests for monitoring the soil Ph level.

Amateur cultivation of mushrooms does not give a guaranteed result, since the growth of mushrooms strongly depends on many factors.
