VINTAGE 60s SONY TR-1817 6 TRANSISTOR RADIO W/CASE JAPAN WORKING. The 60s were a great decade for the SONY Corporation and subsequent portable radio technology, and this old SONY TR-1817 portable radio is no exception. While similar in style to their Sony TR-818 model, the key differences are slight. This one has a plastic sleeve in which the batteries are slid into, and the headphone/earphone jack is the new standard 3.5mm connector (which was first used by Sony in their EFM-117J model in 1964).

This radio takes 3 'C' cell batteries for operation, with no option for external AC/DC power. "JAPAN" is stamped into the plastic on the back. The front grille reads "ALL TRANSISTOR" though it's known that the TR-1817 officially contains 6 transistors.

Radio is in good condition, and it works.  Case is in fair condition, no strap, some writing inside.  Measures 8 x 4 x 2 inches. See pictures for full description.
