Canarywood is an exotic wood that is yellow to orange in color, typically variegated with light to dark red streaking. It has a medium to high luster. It can be some what variable in density, it is mostly a hard, heavy and strong wood. An exceptional exotic wood from South America.

Hackberry, Spalted (Celtis occidentalis), is not technically a species of Hackberry. It is Hackberry that has been allowed to begin the initial stages of decay, but then dried to prevent further decay. This partial decay, known as spalting, gives the wood its unique characteristic dark lines and streaks where fungus has begun to attack.

Also known as Sugarberry, Nettle Tree, or American Hackberry, Hackberry is a native North American hardwood. Heartwood is light brown to gray with contrasting light yellow sapwood and streaks of blue-gray fungal staining. Grain is usually straight with occasional interlocking structure.
