This unique collector box (5.75 x 7.75 x 1.2) pays homage to the Lafayette class submarine, also known as the SSBN 616 class, a class of nuclear-powered ballistic missile submarines. The first Lafayette class submarine, SSBN—616, went into service in 1962 and 9 were eventually built. The Lafayette class submarines were the first generation of U.S. ballistic missile submarines, and their design and capabilities set the standard for subsequent classes of submarines. The Lafayette class submarines were in service with the United States Navy until the 1990s. This unique collector's box features two custom made 3D resin models of a Lafayette Class submarine - a profile view and an overhead view. In addition to the profile views, this unique display features vital statistics as well as a complete fleet registry listing every Lafayette class submarine constructed.
