Application Case1:Network Port and RS485 Sending Data Simultaneously Through 4G 


Note: The network port of the EG46 is a LAN port function. It can be connected to a network port device such as a camera to connect it to the Internet. At the same time, the serial port of the EG46 can be connected to the RS485 sensor, so it can connect to the Internet. The network port and RS485 can concurrently transmit data, and establish a connection with the 4G network to transmit data, which is not an alternative. 


Application Case2:4G and Network Port Primary and Secondary Backups Transmit RS485 Data 


Note: The network port performs the WAN port function, accesses the RS485 device, etc., and the RS485 data upload data integrity, timeliness, and online rate requirements are high. More importantly, avoid serial port to Ethernet, serial port to 2G, serial port to 4G, etc. Such single link products may have poor network or abnormal conditions, resulting in data transmission interruption or data loss. The main scenario of the main 4G secondary Ethernet: the data traffic usage is less ignoring the 4G traffic tariff, and the surrounding Ethernet network is unstable. The main scenario of the main Ethernet auxiliary 4G: worry about the excessive 4G traffic charges, the Ethernet network around and the network is stable. 

Application Case 3: Extend Multi-Device Data Upload 


Note: It can connect to multiple switches or routers through a network port to connect multiple network devices (assuming cameras, network ports, etc.) or PCs. The PC can poll the RS485 slave device and upload the data to the Internet via the 4G network. It is also possible for the EG46 to actively poll the RS485 slave device and send the data to the Internet. 

Application Case 4: EG46 VPN Transmission 


Note: EG46 can access VPN network by configuring VPN and communicate with other EG46 or PC. EG46 subsequently supports IPSec, PPTP, and L2TP protocols. The PC can communicate with the RS485 device connected to the EG46 through the EG46 device connected to the VPN. If the address of the RS485 device connected to the bus is not repeated, it can communicate with multiple RS485 devices. The PC can communicate with the Ethernet interface device connected to the EG46 through the EG46 device that has been configured with the port mapping and connected to the VPN. If the number of Ethernet interfaces is greater than two, it can be extended through the switch. Of course, the port mapping must also be done. Multiple devices. The EG46's 4G and Ethernet (switched to WAN mode) data upstream channels can all be configured in VPN mode, but only one channel exists at a time. If EG46 is configured with only 4G as the VPN link mode, the Ethernet port can be used as the LAN and connected to the Ethernet port device. If the Ethernet port is used as the WAN mode, the EG46 does not have a LAN port. It can only be used as an RS485 device to access the VPN. 


Application Case 5: EG46 Modbus Master Application 


Note: The EG46 can be configured as a ModbusMaster function to poll the RS485 devices connected to the bus. The EG46 can upload the result value returned by the RS485 device (currently only supports SHORT, FLOAT, BOOLEAN three types) to the cloud server. Data analysis can also be performed later, and sent to the cloud server according to the set conditions. The EG46 sends the polling result to the cloud server through MQTT, TCP, UDP, HTTP, etc. The cloud server can also send control commands to the RS485 device.
