OLSEN, John]. MCGRECOR, Ken

Teeming with Life. John Olsen: His complete graphics 1957 – 2005 (deluxe edition).

By Ken McGregor in consultation with John Olsen and Jeffrey Makin. Melbourne : Macmillan, 2005. Quarto, two volumes, black decorated umber cloth in matching slipcase, pp 256, 8 [247 – 264], illustrated throughout. First edition, second printing of the definitive catalogue raisonné of Olsen’s graphics.

This is the deluxe edition, limited to 70 copies, specially bound and with an original signed etching by Olsen bound in, Emu Spring, edition of 70.

Unlike the deluxe edition of the first printing (which contained the etching Floating), this deluxe edition of the second printing (with the etching Emu Spring) is bound with the chronological list of works, index and glossary as a separate volume. It is unclear why this was done, but possibly because the publisher intended to issue a second volume to the catalogue raisonné with future works, and so excluded the index and chronology from the bound volume.
