Gustavsberg Argenta Classic Large Art Deco Covered Urn designed by Wilhelm Kage. The Argenta line introduced in 1917 is what made Kage most famous. Marked on bottom in sterling silver with GUSTAVSBERG an anchor and KAGE 535. This spectacular piece was designed and made in the early 1930’s in Sweden. The US passed a law in 1930 that required exported goods to have country of origin. As you can see this piece does not have that designation.

This wonderful piece measures approximately 9 1/2” tall (to top of finial, 9 1/2” wide and 5” deep. The top opening measures 2 1/3” by 4 1/3”. The top fits perfectly in the recessed edge. This piece is in excellent condition save for a very tiny area on the protruding part of one handle (see my close-up in picture #10.
