On offer is a vintage side plate, decorated with the Arabesque pattern, made in stoneware by Denby Pottery, Derbyshire England.

Arabesque was designed by Gill Pemberton in 1964, a bold, hand painted geometric design, in which solid red, yellow and mid-brown glazes are used to create circle and roundel patterns set on a deep brown coloured ground, finished in a high-quality satin. Note some shading differences occur within the range and the backstamp may differ on some plates. It is oven proof, dishwasher, and microwave safe.

The plate is 16.7cm in diameter at the rim by 2cm deep. It is in good condition free from damage, chips or cracks, just the odd surface mark commensurate with use or age. The unpackaged weight is 267 grams.

Thank You - For Looking

Condition: The majority or our items are either Old, Second Hand or Both and as a result they may have signs of wear and tear commensurate with age or use that you wouldn't see on a brand-new item.

As there is widespread confusion about the difference between chips, nicks, hairlines, or cracks. Here is how we see it:

A nick is a tiny bit of damage smaller than 1mm and a chip is something you can see with the eye; a hairline runs over the surface glazing but not the body of the item and a crack runs through the body of the item, usually weakening its structure.
