Here is a vintage vase from the Botanic Garden collection, decorated with the Speedwell (Veronica Chamaedrys) made by Portmeirion Pottery, Staffordshire England.

The Portmeirion Botanic Garden collection was created by Susan Williams Ellis when she discovered an old encyclopaedia featuring a collection of plants and flowers, using the pictures and illustrations she created The Botanic Garden Collection. This vase has four detailed images of the Speedwell plant, along with butterflies and insects running around the middle of the vase, set on a white ground.

It is 16.5cm tall by 9cm in diameter 8.5cm across the rim and foot and is in good condition free from chips or cracks, just the odd light surface mark commensurate with use and age. On the underside is the green Portmeirion mark dated 1972. The unpackaged weight is 455 grams.

Thank You - For Looking

Condition: The majority or our items are either Old, Second Hand or Both and as a result they may have signs of wear and tear commensurate with age or use that you wouldn't see on a brand-new item.

As there is widespread confusion about the difference between chips, nicks, hairlines, or cracks. Here is how we see it:

A nick is a tiny bit of damage smaller than 1mm and a chip is something you can see with the eye; a hairline runs over the surface glazing but not the body of the item and a crack runs through the body of the item, usually weakening its structure.
