Attractive Tall Georgian Mahogany Corner Display Cabinet On Stand

A lovely georgian corner display cabinet. We date this cabinet to the early 19th century. The stand has been added at a later date, about 1900.

The cabinet is supplied in two sections, the top display cabinet and the base stand.

The top door is glazed with glass panes held in wood glazing strips producing a pleasing geometric pattern, internally there are three fixed shelves and a shallow recessed shelf below. The rear and bottom shelf have been covered in a dark green baize at some time in the past. The front of the shelves have a painted finish to look like a wood grain.The door is fitted with a lock (key is supplied).

The lower section has been later added and sits on Queen Anne legs to the front and a square section leg to the corner rear. The table base is slightly protruding with a deep apron with a shelf area at the base that has an inlaid design to the centre. 

The cabinet has an overall height of 82" (208cm), a width of 33" (85cm) and a depth of 22" (56cm) from the back corner to the outer edge.

This lovely Georgian mahogany corner display cabinet remains in very good solid condition with surface markings commensurate with age and usage. The cabinet and base have some wear and indentations to some surfaces and edges, the base table has some heavy scratches to the top and the lower shelf surfaces. There is a bit of wear around the bottom edge of the top cabinet.

This remains a very stylish and elegant mahogany corner display cabinet which will continue to provide good service for many years to come.
